Long Service Awards
Mr. Jamal Fakhro awards three employees for a long service with KPMG Fakhro, Mr. Hassan Jassim– Director – Audit & Advisory Department has completed 15 years, Mr. Shawqi Al Alawi– Head of Legal Department has completed 15 years, and Mrs. Madina Hassan– Secretary in Audit & Advisory Department has completed 10 years. We wish all of them all the success in their career with KPMG Fakhro
In KPMG Qatar, Abdullah Tharammel, shown here with partners, Mr. Ahmed Hussain and Mr. Gopal Balasubramaniam, was presented with his long term service award for 5 years, in appreciation of his time served with the firm. Abdullah has been a hard-working and loyal member of the Qatar Infrastructure team, working tirelessly to ensure that new expatriate visas and residence permits are processed in minimal time. We appreciate Abdullah’s efforts, and wish him an even longer career within the KPMG team.

A race against time for KPMG in Bahrain
As part of its corporate citizenship activities, KPMG in Bahrain sponsored two teams of enthusiastic KPMG people to participate in the annual ‘Against the Clock’ fundraising event, which was held at the famous Bahrain International Circuit (home of the Bahrain Formula 1 Grand Prix) on 9 May and organized by the Bahrain Rotaract Club.
Rotaract is a program that is part of Rotary International, a network of 151 countries with over 1.2 million members that volunteer to provide humanitarian services and encourage high ethical standards. Rotaract fosters leadership and responsible citizenship, encourages high ethical standards in business and promotes international understanding and peace. Recent examples of the Rotaract Club’s corporate citizenship work in Bahrain include:
Fully furnishing a PC lab for Autistic Children
Purchasing carpentry equipment for elderly people
Presenting the Bahrain Ministry of Health with a new bus for its Blood Bank
The Against the Clock teams (pictured above) were enthusiastically supported by their KPMG colleagues and their families, as they took part in a number of action-packed mental and physical challenges and games.

KPMG in Bahrain also recently participated in the 9th Annual Careers Days at the University of Bahrain (pictured), and the firm received a number of applications from young Bahraini students for both its Graduate Recruitment and Summer Internship Programs. The Bahrain firm’s commitment to corporate citizenship was a key factor in its popularity amongst students at this event.
KPMG Fakhro is commited to providing full sponsorship to young Bahraini graduates to assist them in obtaining their professional qualifications.
