KPMG FAMILY DAY
KPMG’s Fun Filled Family Day
KPMG Fakhro held a “Family Day” on Saturday, 17th April, for its employees and their families where everyone got to spend a fun filled day at the Adhari Theme Park. The Family Day was organized as part of the firm’s Employer of Choice activities and was an opportunity for everyone to spend some quality time with their families and colleagues. The day started at 10:00am offering everyone the opportunity to have unlimited fun on all the rides. An added feature of the day was the bowling tournament and Go Carting competition.
Other features were the free henna, face painting for children and a clowns show. The 300 strong attendees, made up of KPMG employees, their spouses and children were not only treated with entertainment but were also given the opportunity to win attractive prizes and take home souvenirs.
“It was an excellent day, we should do this again” said Jaafar Al Qubaiti, Partner, Audit department. “The kids definitely had a great day out and are asking when we are going again” was a comment from another KPMG employee.
“This event was a great opportunity for KPMG’s staff members to bond with not only their families, but their colleagues as well” said Mr. Jamal Fakhro, Managing Partner.

International Womens’ Day 2010
KPMG recognized all the women in the firm by thanking them for their contribution to the success of the firm – a special message was sent to the women in the office by Mr Jamal Fakhro, Managing Partner. The women in the Internal Audit Risk Compliance were treated to a scrumptious lunch by their Partner, Ms Jeyapriya Partiban. Chocolates were distributed to the women in the office.
World Environment Day – June 2009
KPMG celebrated this day by creating a ‘Go Green with KPMG’ awareness exercise as well as distributing small plants to its staff.

KPMG Gives Back to Local Community
KPMG Fakhro’s Internal Audit, Risk & Compliance Services (IARCS) department recently organized a staff visit to a local labour camp, as well as homes of families in need, to distribute over 40 packages of food and related essentials, as part of the organization’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiative.
Over BD 1,000/-, contributed by the IARCS team members, was used to purchase the items which were then personally distributed last Friday to labourers at the camp and families at their homes.
“I am pleased to note that we continue to see an increase in the number of staff volunteering for charity work over the years. This is one of the more important activities for us at KPMG and it gives the team an opportunity to reach out to those in need within the local community.” said IARCS partner-in-charge, Priya Partiban.
The IARCS team consist of about 25 professionals, operating out of Bahrain and Qatar and KPMG Fakhro is a member firm of KPMG International, which provides audit, tax and advisory services worldwide.

KPMG supported the annual Bahrain Treasure Hunt which was held under the patronage of H.H. Shaikh Abdullah Bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Head of the Public Commission for the Protection of Marine Resources, Environment and Wildlife.

KPMG Fakhro Receives Global Accolades for Training
ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), the global body for professional accountants, has awarded Platinum approved employer level status certificate to KPMG, not only for the training support provided for student accountants but also for the Professional Development support it gives to qualified accountants, who must keep their skills and knowledge continuously updated, after qualifying.
The award further demonstrates KPMG’s commitment to becoming an Employer of Choice and to developing our professionals. A certificate ceremony was held in both Bahrain and Qatar this past October.
